Jenna Caira Invited to a National Camp

SYRACUSE – Syracuse softball pitcher Jenna Caira has been invited to the 2009 Senior Women's National Team Evaluation Camp in Victoria, BC. Caira was named the 2009 BIG EAST, ECAC and Syracuse University Rookie of the Year.
The Richmond Hill, Ontario native helped guide the Orange to one of its most successful seasons in program history. Syracuse finished 30-21 overall, with a 12-10 record in BIG EAST play, good enough for fifth in the conference. The Orange also made its fifth straight and sixth overall appearance in the BIG EAST Tournament.
In her first season with the Orange, Caira led the SU pitching staff in several categories, including wins (16), era (2.33), strikeouts (192), innings pitched (186.1) and shutouts (6). The ace also appeared in a team-high 34 games making 27 starts.
