
Orange Earns BIG EAST Honor

Sixteen members of the women's lacrosse squad were named to the 2008-09 BIG EAST ALL-Academic team.
Senior Katie Rowan earned the honor for the fourth straight year, adding to an already impressive list of academic accomplishments for the inclusive education and sociology major. She was named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large First Team and was the BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete Sports Excellence award winner. Senior Megan Mosenson was also selected to her the All-Academic team for the fourth consecutive year.
Three-time honorees are junior health & exercise science major Jackie DePetris, junior television radio & film major Eileen Finn, and junior accounting major Christina Dove. Two-time honorees include sophomore Christine Danielson, junior Liz Hogan and junior Catherine Rodriguez. Making their first appearance on the All-Academic team are senior Bridget Hamm, junior Sarah Sedgwick, sophomore Lindsey Connell and freshmen Jill Cammett, Sarah Holden, Janelle Stegeland and Heather Wentz.
To be named All-Academic the student-athlete must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher throughout the year and earn a varsity letter in a sport sponsored by the conference.
