
Orange Opens BIG EAST Play Friday

JAMAICA, N.Y. – Syracuse opens BIG EAST play when it takes on St. John's in Jamaica, N.Y. at 5 p.m. The Orange enters conference action with a 3-2-2 mark, while the Red Storm is 5-1.
The Orange is unbeaten in its last five contests, posting a 3-0-2 mark during that span. Syracuse defeated Colgate last Friday for its first three-game winning streak since 2004. St. John's is coming off its biggest win of the season, a 2-1 come-from-behind victory at No. 12/25 Indiana.
SCOUTING ST. JOHN'S
C.J. Ludemann leads St. John's in points (8) and assists (4), and is tied for the team lead in goals (2). On the defensive end, Kristin Russell has started every game in goal for the Red Storm, posting a 0.66 goal-against average and a .800 save percentage.
ORANGE IN BIG EAST OPENERS
Friday's game at St. John's begins the BIG EAST season for the Orange. Syracuse is 3-7-2 all-time in BIG EAST openers.
FROSH SPARK ORANGE
The trend of freshmen providing the scoring punch for Syracuse continued in its victory at Colgate. Jenna Rickan notched the only goal in the game when she re-directed Rosina Callisto's shot in the 61st minute.
