SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Syracuse (21-4, 3-4) was overwhelmed by a powerful Notre Dame offense (13-8, 6-2), falling in straight sets on Saturday afternoon at the Purcell Pavilion.
Senior outside hitter Hayley Todd led the Orange with seven kills while senior right side Mindy Stanislovaitis added six and a trio of block assists. Junior outside Noemie Lefebvre also added six kills while logging seven digs while freshman outside hitter Samantha Clarey had a career-best three kills in the contest. Rookie Lindsay McCabe rounded out the offense, adding a trio of kills and seven total blocks while sophomore Laura Homann directed the attack with 19 assists.
Defensively, junior libero Ashley Williams led the squad with nine digs while senior defensive specialist Sarah Hayes added five. Sophomore Samantha Hinz aided McCabe in the front row defense with four total blocks.
The Orange continues its two-match road swing at DePaul tomorrow at 2 p.m.
