SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Orange finishes the 2010 regular season with seven straight BIG EAST matches. That stretch of games begins Saturday, Oct. 9 when Syracuse (2-5-3, 0-1-1) hosts DePaul (3-6-2, 0-2-0) in a 7 p.m. match at the SU Soccer Stadium.
Syracuse is coming off its second victory of the season, a 3-2 overtime triumph against #24 Colgate. It was SU's first victory against a ranked opponent since the 2008 season finale when it defeated #21 Louisville at home.
ORANGE ON THE BOARD EARLY
Syracuse scored its initial two first-half goals of the season Wednesday against the Raiders. Sophomore Mark Brode notched the first when he headed in a corner kick in the 25th minute. Junior Fredrik Forsman followed approximately a minute later when he tallied the first goal of his career. It marked the first time this season the Orange played with the lead as the team put together some of its best soccer of the year.
BRODE HAS BIG NIGHT
Brode just didn't score in the first half for Syracuse against Colgate. He also netted the match-winner with 32 seconds left in overtime with a 20-yard strike off a free kick. His two goals were a career-high and equaled his 2009 season total.

SCOUTING DEPAUL
The Blue Demons are 3-6-2 and 0-2-0 in BIG EAST Conference play thus far. DePaul lost to non-conference foe Northwestern, 3-2, on Oct. 6 before traveling to Syracuse. The Blue Demons are led by senior Alex Mangan and sophomore Antonio Aguilar. The duo has combined for nine of DePaul's 10 goals this season. Mangan leads the club with five tallies. Aguilar has four. Senior Willy Lara leads the Blue Demons with three assists. Sophomore goalkeeper Joe Ferrari has played every minute between the posts for DePaul. He has 43 saves, a 1.66 goals-against average and three shutouts.

Blazer guided the Blue Demons to consecutive BIG EAST Championship semifinal appearances in 2007 and 2008 and a BIG EAST quarterfinal berth last season. Blazer and his staff were tabbed the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year in 2007 after leading DePaul to the Red Division title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
THE SERIES WITH DEPAUL
Syracuse and DePaul have met every year since the Blue Demons joined the BIG EAST in 2005. The home team has won all five meetings with DePaul leading the series, 3-2. The first four pairings were all decided by the score of 1-0. DePaul won last year's encounter, 2-1, at Wish Field.
