BOSTON – The Syracuse University men's rowing team concluded its fall season with three top-10 finishes, including two top-five showings, today at the Foot of the Charles in Boston, Mass. Syracuse's varsity four placed third and SU's freshmen eight finished fourth. The Orange second varsity four also posted a top-10 finish with an eighth-place showing. The Foot of the Charles Regatta is an annual race put on by the Charles River university crews for their athletes and guest universities.
“The varsity fours had solid rows. Not quite as technically sharp as I have seen us but we were racing hard and we were happy with the results," said head coach Dave Reischman. "We have had a useful fall racing season—the challenge for us is to keep moving forward for the next three months while we are training indoors.”
The SU freshmen eight finished with a time of 13:00.364. Harvard won the race in 12:08.246. Twenty-four teams competed in the event.
Syracuse will return to the water on Saturday, April 2 when the Orange travels to Princeton, N.J. for a dual race with Princeton and Georgetown.
