
Syracuse Outlasts Buffalo, 4-3

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Syracuse (8-2) outlasted Buffalo (3-2), 4-3, on Saturday morning in Buffalo, N.Y. The Bulls earned the doubles point with a pair of victories, but the Orange claimed four of the six singles contests to secure the victory.
Freshman CC Sardinha led the Orange at the No. 1 singles spot, defeating Buffalo's Denise Harijanto, 6-2, 6-4. Senior Eleanor Peters earned a win at No. 3 singles with a 6-4, 6-2 score while sophomore Alessondra Parra made a three-set comeback to win, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4 at No. 4. Senior Christina Tan cemented the victory, defeating Diana Toia, 6-3, 6-1, at No. 6 singles.
Parra and Peters teamed in doubles action to earn the only tandem win of the day for Syracuse, defeating Diana Popescu and Toia, 8-2.
The Orange returns home to host BIG EAST foe Pittsburgh on Sunday, February 28 at 11 a.m. at the Drumlins Tennis Center.
