Gibbs Earns BIG EAST Honor Roll Nod

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Junior Hallie Gibbs was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for the week of April 5, the conference announced today. Gibbs was the offensive leader for the Orange as it opened BIG EAST play going 1-2 in a three-game series at Georgetown.
The Munster, Ind. native led the Orange at the plate, battting .636 (7-for-11) with a pair of extra-base efforts, including her second home run of the season. Gibbs also drove in nine runsin the series, tying former teammate Amy Kelley for third on the SU career RBI list with 92.
The honor roll mention is the third of the season for the Orange - middle infielder Stephanie Watts was named to the honor roll for the week of March 8 and pitcher Jenna Caira earned honor roll selection on March 15.
Gibbs and the Orange begin a five-game homestand when they entertain St. John's in a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 7 beginning at 3 p.m.
