
Jones Helps Hudson Valley To Empire State Games Silver

Mookie Jones averaged 17.2 points over four contests and helped Hudson Valley to the silver medal in the open men's division of the 2010 Empire State Games in Buffalo, N.Y. Jones is preparing for his third year at Syracuse and will be a redshirt sophomore on the men's basketball squad.
Jones helped Hudson Valley get off to a great start, tallying 27 points in a 90-74 victory against New York City on July 22. The squad then defeated Adirondack, 77-65, and Jones contributed nine points.
He converted 24 points, including four three-point baskets, when Hudson Valley beat Western, 87-84, on July 24. The two teams squared off again in the gold-medal game with Western emerging with a 86-82 victory. Jones had nine points.
