Ice Hockey Announces Class of 2014

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse University women's ice hockey head coach Paul Flanagan announced that 10 new student-athletes will join the program for the 2010-11 season.
Kallie Billadeau Goaltender Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins
Billadeau, the top rated goalie in the state of Minnesota, played in 30 games as a senior goaltender with a goals-against average of 1.60. She made 792 saves and recorded five shutouts on the season.
Jenesica Drinkwater Goaltender Brantford, Ontario/Stoney Creek
Drinkwater's Stoney Creek Junior Sabres won the bronze medal in the Provincial Women's Hockey League (PWHL). She played in 29 games for the Junior Sabres, making 628 saves and recording seven shutouts. Drinkwater also played in the National Aboriginal Hockey Championship for Team Ontario South that won the bronze medal. During the 2008-09 season she was one of six goalies in the country to be selected for Team Canada Camp. That same season she was a member of Team Ontario, where she participated in the National Women's U-18
Sadie St. Germain Forward Ashburnham, Mass./The Berkshire School
St. Germain was a four-year varsity starter where her team was two-time New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) quarterfinalists and Watkins Tournament champions. She also played for the Boston Shamrocks and was a three-time participant in the USA Hockey National Player Development Camp.
Cara Johnson Forward Plymouth, Minn./Hopkins
Johnson tallied 17 goals and 24 assists in her senior season, increasing her career total to 69 goals and 127 assists. She was a four-time all-conference selection and a member of the all-state team for two consecutive years. Johnson was named a finalist for the 2010 Minnesota Ms. Hockey Award, which is presented to the top senior girls high school hockey player in the state of Minnesota.
Akane Hosoyamada Defense Banff, Alberta/The Warner School
As an assistant captain for the Warner School, Hosoyamada played in 54 games, tallying 24 goals and 16 assists. She played for Team Alberta at the National Women's U-18 Championship and was a member of the Junior Women's Hockey League (JWHL) championship team. Hosoyamada is a versatile player that can contribute on both ends of the ice for the Orange.
Brittney Krebs Defense Marathon, N.Y./National Sports Academy
During her senior season at NSA Krebs played in 67 games and recorded 13 goals and 33 assists. She also scored five game-winning goals.
Christina LaCombe Defense Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie
As a team captain, LaCombe scored 46 goals and added 39 assists in her final two seasons from the defensive position. She was an all-state selection for two consecutive seasons and led the state of Minnesota in goals scored by a defenseman.
Samantha Press Forward Minnetonka, Minn./The Hotchkiss School
Press scored 15 goals and added 20 assists in her senior campaign for The Hotchkiss School. She led her team to a successful 12-4-3 season.
Caitlin Roach Defense Dearborn Heights, Mich./Honeybaked
Roach was a captain for her Honeybaked U-19 team where she played in 58 games, tallying 17 goals and 42 assists.
Margot Scharfe Forward Toronto, Ontario/Branksome Hall/Mississauga
Scharfe's Mississauga Junior Chiefs won the Provincial Women's Hockey League (PWHL) regular season championship. She recorded 15 goals and 22 assists, helping her team win five tournaments, including the Stoney Creek University Showcase. As a senior-captain at Branksome Hall Scharfe she was named the varsity team MVP.
