Oranges Earns Scholar All-America Honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse University men's and women's swimming and diving teams earned Scholar All-America Team honors for the Spring 2010 semester, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced today. Individually, rising senior Kuba Kotynia was also recognized as a Scholar All-American.
The CSCAA selects and honors Scholar All-America Teams twice annually, once after each semester. In order to earn Scholar All-America honors a team must have a minimum 3.0 grade- point average for the semester.
The men's swimming and diving team notched the fourth-highest GPA (3.36) among the 60 Division I men's team on the list, while the women ranked 10th among 133 teams with a 3.51.
It is the second national academic honor of the year for Kotynia, who was also named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-America Team following the season.
