James Southerland and Syracuse will open the 2010-11 season against Northern Iowa on November 12.

SYRACUSE, NY – Syracuse and Northern Iowa will meet for the first time when the Panthers come to the Carrier Dome on Friday, November 12. Both programs earned NCAA Tournament appearances last season.

Northern Iowa was one of the surprises of the 2010 Tournament. The Panthers defeated Wichita State, UNLV and number-one seed Kansas before losing to Michigan State. Northern Iowa finished the campaign with a 30-5 record, the same mark as Syracuse's. The Panthers have captured back-to-back Missouri Valley Conference regular-season and tournament titles.

Coach Ben Jacobson has guided Northern Iowa to an 89-43 record in his four seasons.

New season tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, September 8, at 10:00 a.m. Single-game sales will start on Wednesday, October 13, at 10:00 a.m.
