BOERGER NAMED GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK
Senior goalkeeper Phil Boerger was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday, Oct. 10 for his performance against No. 11 Louisville. Boerger made seven saves to record his first clean sheet of the year in the Orange's 0-0 draw against the Cardinals.
For the season, Boerger has 45 saves and holds a 1.52 goals-against average. He is currently second in the BIG EAST in saves per game (4.5) and fourth in the league in saves. With his seven saves against Louisville, Boerger reached 150 saves for his career.
Boerger is the first SU player to be named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week since Robert Cavicchia on Oct. 6, 2008.
FRESHMEN LEADING THE WAY
This year's Orange freshman class has made an immediate impact. Through 10 games, freshmen Chris Makowski, Jordan Murrell, Nick Perea, and Skylar Thomas have combined for eight points on three goals and two assists.
Their eight combined points are the most scored by an SU freshman class since 2006. Hansen Woodruff, Pete Hill and Luis Martinez recorded 22 points in their first year on campus.

Through 12 games, St. John's holds an overall record of 7-3-2, with a 1-2-0 mark in BIG EAST play. In the latest NSCAA/adidas National Poll, St. John's is ranked No. 21 in the country. The Red Storm has appeared in the national rankings since the Week 2 poll.
Last time out, the Red Storm suffered a 3-2 loss at USF. Senior Pablo Battuto Punyed led the team with three points (one goal, one assist) on the night.
