SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 5/5 Syracuse renews its oldest rivalry on Saturday, Nov. 19 when it hosts Colgate. Game time is set for 4 p.m. The Orange enters the contest with a 3-0 record, while the Raiders are 1-1.

GOING FOR 860
Syracuse's next win will the 860th victory of head coach Jim Boeheim's career. He enters Saturday's game with career record of 859-301 (.741) in 35-plus seasons at the helm of the Orange men's program. Boeheim will become the fifth Division I coach to post 860 career wins.
KEITA AND SOUTHERLAND SPARK THE ORANGE
Junior James Southerland and sophomore Baye Keita posted career highs against Albany, helping Syracuse to a 98-74 win in the Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off. Southerland tallied 19 points, including 14 in the second half, on 8-for-12 shooting from the floor. He is SU's second-leading scorer this season, averaging 13.7 points per game. Keita was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field and finished with 14 points. He also pulled down five rebounds.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE ORANGE
The Orange advanced to the semifinals of the Dick's Sporting Goods NIT Season Tip-Off with a 98-74 victory against Albany on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
With the game tied at 16-16, Fab Melo scored two consecutive field goals, sparking Syracuse on a 9-0 scoring run, giving SU a 25-16 lead. The Orange extended its lead to 17 at 49-32 with 1:38 remaining and took a 51-34 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
Syracuse opened the second half with an 11-3 scoring spurt, highlighted by an alley-oop from Scoop Jardine to Brandon Triche. The Orange continued to build its lead and went on to the 24-point victory.
Ten different players scored at least four points for SU, led by James Southerland and Kris Joseph, who both tallied 19 points. Sophomore Baye Keita also posted a career high with 14 points.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate enters Saturday's game with a 1-1 record. After opening the season with a 78-74 win at Binghamton, the Raiders lost at Wisconsin, 68-41, on Wednesday.
Mike Venezia leads Colgate in scoring, averaging 14.0 points per game. He is the only member of the Raiders averaging double figures in scoring. Venezia tallied 22 points in the season-opening victory against Binghamton. John Brandenburg leads Colgate's efforts on the boards, pulling down 8.5 rebounds per game.
Matt Langel is in his first year as head coach at Colgate. Prior to joining the Raiders, Langel spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Temple. He graduated in 2000 from Pennsylvania. Langel helped lead the Quakers to two Ivy League titles and NCAA Tournament appearances during his career (1996-2000).
THE SERIES
Syracuse holds a 118-45 advantage in the all-time series, which dates back to 1902. The Orange has won 45 consecutive meetings between the two schools. Colgate's last win in the series was a 67-63 win on Feb. 24, 1962. Last season, Syracuse defeated the Raiders, 100-43.
