SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sarah Pagano of the women's cross country team and Thomas Trendowski of the football team are the Syracuse University Scholar Athletes of the Week for November 21, 2011.
Pagano is a junior majoring in bio chemistry. She is a two time BIG EAST All-Academic Team performer, and has been on the Syracuse University Athletic Director's Honor Roll all four semesters at SU.
On the trails, the Ringwood, N.J., native has garnered All-BIG EAST honors in back-to-back seasons. This year, Pagano finished first at the Colgate Invitational, and last week she placed 52nd at the National Championship Meet and was second on the team.
Pagano has been instrumental in helping head coach Chris Fox earn Northeast Region Coach of the Year the past three seasons.
Trendowski is pursuing a degree in physical education. A redshirt senior, Trendowski has appeared on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team in back-to-back years, and is a four time member of the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., Trendowski made the football team as a walk-on in 2008. He has appeared in seven games throughout his career.
The Orange football team is in action this Saturday against Cincinnati on Senior Day at the Carrier Dome (12:00 p.m., BIG EAST Network/SNY). Tickets are available online, at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B) or by calling 1-888-DOMETIX.
