Orange Hosts Cornell in Home Finale

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 18 Syracuse will play its final regular-season home game on Tuesday at 7 p.m. when Cornell comes to the Carrier Dome. The last time the two teams met, Syracuse topped Cornell by a score of 7-6.
Both teams enter the contest on two-game winning streaks. Syracuse is 7-7 overall and tries to climb above the .500 mark for the first time since the first week of the season. Cornell enters the Tuesday's game with a mark of 5-7.
The game will be broadcast live on Time Warner Cable in Syracuse (channels 13 and 813), Albany (channel 1), Buffalo (channel 87) and New York City (channel 199). The game can be seen on a tape-delay basis in Rochester on April 27 at 9 p.m.

NEW YORK'S TEAM
Since Syracuse began participating in women's lacrosse, the Orange has found success against in-state opponents. A season opening win against Colgate improved Syracuse's record against New York State schools to 36-5 (.878 winning percentage). SU has never lost to an in-state opponent at the Carrier Dome, winning all 26 games.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE ORANGE
Syracuse's 20-3 win against Cincinnati clinched a spot in the BIG EAST Tournament for the Orange. The win was highlighted by SU scoring a season-high 20 goals. The offensive effort included 13 different players scoring.
Senior Tee Ladouceur led the Syracuse offensive attack with a team-high six points, which included three goals and three assists. The six points moved Ladouceur into sole possession of sixth place on SU's all-time scoring list with 161 points.
Syracuse quickly put Cincinnati away during the contest by scoring six times in the first 10 minutes. Freshman Alyssa Murray recorded two of the team's first six goals, while sophomore Michelle Tumolo added a goal and an assist during the stretch. The Orange led 9-0 before the Bearcats scored their only goal of the first half at the 15:11 mark. Three more Syracuse goals gave SU a 12-1 halftime lead.
The Orange continued the offensive outburst in the second half, stretching its lead to 20-1 against Cincinnati before conceding two late goals. Sophomore Trenna Hill contributed to the Orange's offense by scoring a career-high three goals. Senior Catherine Rodriguez and junior Sarah Holden also managed to find the back of the net twice in the win.
SCOUTING CORNELL
Cornell has posted back-to-back conference victories against Brown and Yale after losing four consecutive games. One of the Big Red's victories this season came against Notre Dame, 6-5, in overtime.
Jessi Steinberg is Cornell's leading scorer this season with 38 points on a team-high 34 goals and four assists. Libby Johnson ranks second on the team in scoring with 25 points (18g, 7a), while Katie Kirk is third with 23 points on 20 goals and three assists.
Kyla Dambach has played the majority of minutes in goal for Cornell. She has an 11.03 goals-against average and a .379 save percentage.
Jenny Graap is in her 14th year at the helm of the Big Red program. She has guided Cornell to a record of 128-87 (.593).
