Jackson Has Strong Showing In Portsmouth

Senior Rick Jackson had 13 points and five rebounds and helped his club to a first-game victory in the 2011 Portsmouth Invitational in Portsmouth, Va., on Wednesday. Jackson's team, K&D Rounds Landscaping, defeated Sales Sytem Ltd., 78-74.
The Portsmouth Invitational, first held in 1953, features 64 of the best college basketball seniors from across thec country.
Jackson was six-of-12 from the field and made 1-of-2 free throws in 24 minutes of work. He also added a steal. His teammate, Jmmy Butler of Marquette, led all scorers with 19 points.
The team now plays Portsmouth Partnership, at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The games are being contested at Churchland High School.
