Harman Earns All-BIG EAST Honors

PROVIDENVE, R.I. – The BIG EAST Conference announced that junior Emily Harman earned All-BIG EAST Team honors along with 11 other student-athletes from the conference.
Syracuse was just one of seven institutions from the 16-team conference to secure a spot on the list. Notre Dame and USF accounted for half of the squad, with three players from each team chosen, while DePaul had two players selected. Georgetown, Louisville, Rutgers and Syracuse had one player each on the All-BIG EAST team.
Harman spent the majority of the season occupying the first singles position and the first doubles spot along with partner freshman Maddie Kobelt. The doubles pair highlighted the Orange's 2011 season with a record of 17-6 when playing together. The duo became SU's first ranked doubles pair, earning a ranking of No. 32 on March 29 according to the the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
She registered a singles record of 15-8, which included a six-match win streak at the second and third positions early in the season.
With her singles win against St. John's in the BIG EAST Tournament, Harman joined an elite group in the 100-win club. She currently has an overall record of 100-48.
