Orange Concludes Successful Season

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The Syracuse women's lacrosse squad completed another successful season in 2011. The Orange, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Gary Gait, won seven of its last nine games and posted a 10-8 record this season. It marks the fifth consecutive year that Syracuse has posted 10 or more victories. The Orange earned a share of the BIG EAST regular-season crown with a 7-1 record in league play. Syracuse has now won or shared the regular-season title in four of the last five seasons.
Six members of the team earned All-BIG EAST accolades, including a league-best five first-team selections. Senior Liz Hogan was voted to the All-BIG EAST First Team for the fourth consecutive year. She was joined on the first team by seniors Tee Ladouceur and Catherine Rodriguez, sophomore Michelle Tumolo and freshman Katie Webster. Sophomore Becca Block earned a spot on the all-conference second team. In addition, Gait was named the BIG EAST co-Coach of the Year.
Hogan ends her career as Syracuse's all-time leader in saves (660) and ground balls (181). She is also the BIG EAST's career leader in saves in conference games with 253.
Ladouceur also ranks in the top 10 on several of the Orange's career leader lists. In three seasons at Syracuse, she recorded 179 points, which ranks sixth all-time, while her 81 assists are the fourth-highest total in program history. In addition, Ladouceur is ninth on the all-time goals scored list with 98.
