Rogers Honored at Rochester Alumni Club Sports Banquet

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Syracuse University Alumni Club of Rochester held its 52nd annual Alumni Club Sports Banquet on Tuesday, June 7. Lindsay Rogers, a Rochester native and five-year member of the Orange women's lacrosse team, was presented the Fred Brightman Memorial Award for excellence on the field and in the classroom.
During her career, Rogers earned All-America honors and was named the 2008 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year. In addition, she was a two-time All-BIG EAST selection. Rogers, who redshirted in 2010 after suffering a knee injury, holds the school single-season record for draw controls (56). She also ranks fourth on the all-time leader list with 131 career draw controls. Rogers has been recognized for her efforts in the classroom as a member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
In addition, assistant football coach Tyrone Wheatley spoke to the group about the upcoming season. The program ended with a question and answer session with John Wallace '96 and emcee Scott Pitoniak.
The Rochester Alumni Club held its first Sports Banquet to celebrate the football squad's 1959 national championship.
