Six Orange Earn Academic Honor

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Six members of the 2011 Syracuse women's lacrosse team have been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Academic Honor Roll. Overall, 187 student-athletes from 65 different institutions were honored for earning at least a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average.
The Orange's honorees included 2011 graduates Christine Danielson, Liz Hogan, Catherine Rodriguez and Lindsay Rogers, and current seniors Jill Cammett and Heather Wentz.
Danielson was an eight-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and a four-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team. She played in five games in 2011.
Hogan ended her career as Syracuse's all-time leader in saves with 660. The eight-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll and four-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors three times during her career and was the 2010 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year. Hogan became the first goalkeeper in school history to earn All-America honors in 2010 when she was a first-team honoree.
Rogers also was an eight-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll. Her 133 career draw controls rank third in school history. Rogers earned All-America Second Team honors in 2008. She was also named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year that season. Rogers earned BIG EAST All-Academic Team honors every year of her career.
Rodriguez earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors in 2011 after posting career highs in points (24) and goals (22). She also tied her career high with 27 draw controls. Rodriguez was also a member of the All-Northeast Region Second Team. She earned a spot on the Athletic Director's Honor in each of her eight semesters and was a four-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team honoree.
Cammett made 16 starts last season and played in all 18 games on the Orange's defense. She helped Syracuse hold its opponents to less than 10 goals in nine contests. Cammett finished the season with 10 ground balls, six caused turnovers and three draw controls. She is a three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team member and a six-time member of the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.
Wentz played in eight games in 2011 and made one start. She scored two goals and dished out an assist for three points. Wentz has been a member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team three times and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll in each of her six semesters at Syracuse.
Syracuse's six selections to the Academic Honor Roll are tied for the second-highest total in the country and are the most for any BIG EAST Conference school.
