Breast Cancer Awareness Softball Game set for Tonight

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse University softball team will hold its “Save 2nd Base” breast cancer awareness game tonight as the Orange hosts Binghamton at the SU Softball Stadium. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
Fans will be able to participate in multiple events throughout the evening such as silent auctions, face and finger nail painting, and t-shirt giveaways. All proceeds will benefit the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Foundation.
Items to bid on at the silent auction include: A No. 44 pink jersey signed by the softball team, a pink hard hat signed by men's basketball coach Jim Boeheim, gift certificate baskets and more. Cash and checks (made paybale to the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of CNY) will be accepted. The bidding will conclude at the end of the fourth inning.
Prior to the start of the game, the back-to-back BIG EAST Tournament Champions will be receiving their 2011 championship rings.
Festivities start at 5:30 p.m., while the ring ceremony will be held five minutes prior to first pitch.
Friday is the first of two fall home games for the Orange. SU then plays Le Moyne on Sunday at 6 p.m. at the SU Softball Stadium.
