
Both men's lacrosse and women's ice hockey have home contests this weekend

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Bryan Clegg of men's lacrosse and Megan Skelly of ice hockey are the Syracuse University Scholar Athletes of the Week for January 30, 2012.
Clegg (Liverpool, N.Y.) is a senior majoring in civil engineering. He has been named to the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll seven times and is a two-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection.
Last season, Clegg appeared in two games as a reserve defender. He was a part of the Orange defensive unit that ranked third nationally in scoring defense (6.94 goals per game) and set a school record for man-down defense efficiency, leading the nation at 81.7 percent.
Skelly (Taber, Alberta) is a senior majoring in biology. She is a two-time selection to the SU Athletic Director's Honor Roll, and was also named to the CHA All-Academic Team last season.
Skelly is a co-captain for the Orange this season, and has 10 points (five goals, five assists) in 28 games this season. She is also the program's all-time leader in games played at 127.
The men's lacrosse team will begin the 2012 season on Sunday with a scrimmage against Le Moyne and Hofstra beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Carrier Dome. The ice hockey team will return home to host Robert Morris on Friday (7:00 p.m.) and Saturday (2:00 p.m.), including Senior Day on Saturday at the Tennity Ice Pavilion.
