Both junior Ross Krautman and senior Shamarko Thomas were recognized by the BIG EAST for their performances in Syracuse football's 40-10 win against UConn on Friday night. Krautman was named the BIG EAST Special Teams Player of the Week, while Thomas made the Weekly Honor Roll.

Against the Huskies, Krautman scored 16 points, which is the most by a BIG EAST kicker in a game this season. Krautman hit field goals of 22, 33, 42 and 47 yards and was 4-for-4 on PATs. The Franklin, N.J. native has 203 career points, tying Don McAulay for eighth on Syracuse's career chart. Krautman is the leader on SU's field goal percentage record list (.822, 37-of-45)Â and is fourth on SU's career PAT's made list (80). So far this season, Krautman is 8-for-13 in field goals and 17-for-17 in PAT's.

Thomas recorded four solo tackles, forced one fumble, and intercepted a pass for 27 yards against Connecticut. He is tied for eighth in interceptions (0.29 avg/g) and fifth in fumbles forced (0.29 avg/g) in the BIG EAST. This season, Thomas has 43 tackles, including, 29 solo, three for a loss of eight yards and one sack for a loss of six yards. He has had two interceptions that were returned for 27 yards and forced two fumbles.
