SU Faces Long-Time Rival Colgate Sunday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – No. 6/6 Syracuse welcomes Central New York foe Colgate to the Carrier Dome on Sunday, Nov. 25 for a 1 p.m. contest. It will be the 165th meeting between the two schools.
Tickets for Sunday's game are available online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) or in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B). The game will be broadcast on Time Warner Sports Cable and SNY. Fans not in attendance can listen to the action on the Syracuse IMG Radio Network and its flagship TK99 (99.5 FM). Live video and audio will be available on Orange All Access on SUathletics.com. Subscriptions to Orange All Access are available at daily, monthly and yearly rates.
A CLOSER LOOK AT THE ORANGE
Syracuse extended its home winning streak to 24 games with a 73-53 victory against Princeton in the Carrier Dome on Wednesday. Five players scored in double figures, led by James Southerland's career-high 22.
The Orange never trailed, opening the game with six consecutive points. Syracuse continued to pull away from the Tigers, leading by as many as 12 points, and took a 36-25 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Princeton fought back in the second half and cut the lead to six at 45-39 with 13:43 to play, but the Orange responded with an 8-0 scoring run and went on to the 20-point victory.
Southerland was 7-for-11 from the floor, including 4-for-6 from three-point range, and 4-for-4 from the line. Junior C.J. Fair added 12 points, while senior Brandon Triche and sophomores Michael Carter-Williams and Rakeem Christmas finished with 10 points apiece.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
Colgate enters Sunday's game with a 3-3 record. The Raiders defeated St. Francis, 85-76, on Wednesday to extend its winning streak to two.
Murphy Burnatowski and Pat Moore lead the Colgate offense. Burnatwoski averages 17.5 points per game, while Moore is right behind with a 17.3 per-game average. Burnatowski also leads the squad in rebounding (7.3 rpg), and Luke Roh has dished out a team-high 26 assists.
Matt Langel is in his second year at the helm of the Colgate program. In his first season, Langel guided the Raiders to an 8-22 overall record. Previously, Langel served as an assistant coach at Temple from 2006-11. He is a 2000 graduate of Pennsylvania. Langel served on the coaching staff at his alma mater from 2004-06.
THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series against Colgate, which dates back to 1902, 119-45. The Orange has won the last 46 meetings between the two schools. The Raiders last win against SU was in 1962.
