SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse men's crew won both flights of the varsity four, highlighting successful day of racing on its home waters against Cornell and Hobart at the Syracuse Invitational on Sunday at the James A. Ten Eyck Boathouse.

Syracuse's V4A boat of Liz Abraham (coxswain), Mason Leasure, Mac Zink, Jake Martens, Patrick O'Shaughnessy-Hunter won the day's first event in a time of 16:40.7. Cornell's "A" boat finished second, followed in third by the Orange V4B of Kevin Tompkins (coxswain), Kyle Rodgers, Tyler Toporowski, Cameron Bierwith, Nick Pickard in 16:58.5.

In Flight B of the V4, Syracuse's "D" boat placed first in a time of 16:57.7, followed by Cornell "F" and the Orange "E" boat in third in 17:09.2.

Cornell "A" won the freshman 8 event in 15:35.2 and took the rerow as well in 16:20.9. Syracuse "A" and "B", fourth and fifth, respectively, in the F8, placed second and fourth in the rerow.

The Syracuse Invitational, the Orange's lone home regatta of the fall season for both the men's and women's teams, is an annual head race that begins on the Seneca River and works its way back to the Ten Eyck Boathouse on the Onondaga River Outlet.

The Orange begins its spring racing season on March 30 against Princeton and Georgetown in Princeton, N.J.
