A CLOSER LOOK AT THE ORANGE
Syracuse extended its home winning streak to 26 games and recorded its 47th consecutive non-conference victory in its 84-48 win against Eastern Michigan on Monday, Dec. 3 in the Carrier Dome.
The Eagles started the game strong and used a 10-1 scoring run to build a seven-point advantage just more than six minutes into the contest. Syracuse responded with a 9-2 run of its own to tie the score at 12-12. Junior C.J. Fair had a pair of dunks during the run, while senior Brandon Triche added back-to-back baskets. SU's offense continued to click as it pulled away from Eastern Michigan and took a 35-17 lead into the locker room at halftime.
The second half featured more Orange offense. Freshman DaJuan Coleman scored 10 of his team-high 14 points after intermission, helping Syracuse to the 36-point victory.
Coleman was one of five players to reach double figures in scoring for the Orange. Triche added 12 points, while sophomore Michael Carter-Williams, redshirt freshman Trevor Cooney and freshman Jerami Grant finished with 11 points each. It was a season high for both Cooney and Grant. Carter-Williams also had 11 assists for his second consecutive double-double.
SCOUTING THE 49ERS
Long Beach State enters Thursday's game with a 3-4 record. The 49ers had their two-game winning streak snapped in a 64-59 loss to Fresno State on Monday.
