Caira Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Syracuse senior pitcher Jenna Caira was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday, March 12. It marked the second time this season Caira was recognized by the conference, as she received Pitcher of the Week accolades on March 5.
Caira went 3-0 this past weekend at the USF Under Armour Invite. In 20 innings, she struck out 19 batters and recorded a 0.35 ERA. Against Miami (OH) and Virginia Tech, she went the distance and did not allow one run.
With the three wins from this past weekend, the Toronto native moves to 9-3 on the year. She holds a 1.81 ERA and has fanned 69 batters in 73.2 innings.
Caira and the Orange are back in action on Tuesday, March 13 when they take on Bradley in Clearwater, Fla. at 2:00 p.m. The team will then face the Netherlands national team in an exhibtion game at 4:00 p.m. Fans will be able to follow a live blog for the Bradley game..
