Caira Earns Third Straight BIG EAST Honor

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Senior pitcher Jenna Caira has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for her efforts this past weekend at the FAU Invitational.
This is the third-consecutive week Caira has been recognized by the BIG EAST. Three weeks ago she was named the Pitcher of the Week, while two weeks ago she earned a spot on the Honor Roll.
In five appearances last week, Caira struck out 30 batters in 23 innings and allowed only one earned run for an ERA of 0.30.
The native of Toronto, Ontario has won 10 straight decisions and has improved her record to 13-3. She carries an ERA of 1.45 and has struck out 99 batters in 96.2 inning of work.
Caira and the softball team will play in the Carrier Dome for the first time in program history this weekend. SU and Colgate play on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. (Time Warner Cable). The Orange then plays Canisius and Colgate on Saturday starting at 12:30 p.m.
