NAMPA, Idaho – Senior hurdler Jarret Eaton, running in the preliminary round of the 2012 NCAA Indoor Championship, advanced to Saturday's championship race after finishing first in his heat on Friday night at Jackson's Indoor Track. Fellow senior Flings Owusu-Agyapong finished sixth in her 60-meter dash heat with a time of 7.43.
Eaton's time of 7.58 seconds in the race was the second fastest of the day as defending champion Andrew Riley of Illinois won his heat with a time of 7.55. The winner of each heat, followed by the next six quickest times, advanced to Saturday's championship flight.
ESPN3.com will carry all the action tomorrow as Eaton looks to become SU's first NCAA Individual champion in program history. Eaton is scheduled to run at 8:35 p.m. (ET) tomorrow evening.
