WASHINGTON, D.C. – With the BIG EAST Tournament just one week away, the No. 57 Syracuse University tennis team (12-4) wraps up the regular-season with road contests at Georgetown (13-5) on Friday at 1:00 p.m. and at Seton Hall (6-11) on Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
Friday will be SU's first match since the Orange defeated Boston University 19 days ago at Drumlins Tennis Club. The Orange has won five matches in a row and 10 of its last 11.
Syracuse checks in at No. 57 in the latest ITA National Rankings, and SU has now been ranked for seven-consecutive weeks. Emily Harman is the 112th ranked singles play in the country, while she and Alessondra Parra are the 61st ranked duo in the nation.
Freshman Amanda Rodgers is approaching the longest Syracuse winning-steak in program history. The Bradenton, Fla. native has won 14 straight matches, and is three wins away from tying Erica O'Neill for the longest at SU. With two wins this weekend, she will have a chance to tie the record at the BIG EAST Tournament.
Heading into the final weekend of play, the Orange has played to a combined singles record of 68-28 (.708), and a mark of 95-49 (.660) including doubles.
The BIG EAST Tournament will be hosted by the University of South Florida and will take place next Thursday through Sunday.
