Orange Lacrosse Trio Launches Into Top 10

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Following a pair of victories by double-digit margins last week, three Syracuse women's lacrosse student-athletes have emerged into the top 10 of the national statistical rankings. Junior Michelle Tumolo, and sophomores Alyssa Murray and Alyssa Costantino moved into the top seven of their respective national categories.
As a team, Syracuse ranks fourth in scoring offense (15.33 goals per game), seventh in both scoring margin (6.33) and win percentage (0.833) and 11th in draw controls (14.42).
After posting a career-high eight points off of three goals and a career-best five assists in each of the Orange's victories against No. 10 Dartmouth and No. 14 Georgetown, Tumolo is tied for seventh in points per game (5.0). The attacker also ranks 11th in the country in assists per contest (2.36).
Murray registered six points in each of last week's triumphs versus the Big Green and Hoyas, and is now tied for seventh in points per game (5.0) with Tumolo. She ranks 11th in goals per game (3.33).
Constantino, who limited Dartmouth to four goals and registered eight saves versus Georgetown, now ranks third in the country in save percentage (0.522). The goalkeeper also ranks 11th in goals-against average (9.04).
The Orange (10-2, 4-0) takes on Central New York foe No. 16/13 Cornell on Tuesday, April 17. SU will vie for its 10th straight victory when it battles the Big Red at 7 p.m. Fans can follow the action live on WJPZ 89.1FM in the Syracuse area.
