Caira Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – For her no-hit performance against Rutgers and recording 40 strikeouts in 20 innings of work, Jenna Caira has been named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the week of April 23, 2012.
Caira began the week by picking up a win against Pittsburgh. She pitched six strong innings and struck out nine batters while allowing just two hits.
In the opener of a three game series with Rutgers, Caira fanned a career-high 18 batters, and followed that up with a no-hitter in the finale. The no-no was the seniors third of her career and the first since she was a freshman. She struck out 13 Scarlet Knights in the 1-0 victory.
Caira was 2-1 in her three starts with a 0.70 ERA and scattered just seven hits all weekend. She is now 21-5 on the season with a 1.69 ERA. This is her fifth BIG EAST weekly honor of the campaign.
