Duo Leads Orange in National Statistics

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – After an undefeated three-game road trip last week, sophomores Alyssa Murray and Alyssa Costantino have emerged among the nation's best in their respective national categories. The duo aided the No. 2-ranked Orange as it captured victories at No. 13 Cornell, Louisville and Cincinnati.
Riding a school-record tying 12-game winning streak, Syracuse ranks fourth in scoring offense (15.87 goals per game) and fifth in points (347) in the nation. In addition, the Orange is sixth in scoring margin (7.13) and win percentage (0.867), seventh in draw controls (14.87) and ninth in scoring defense (8.73 per game).
After helping hold each of Syracuse's opponents to single-digit goal tallies last week, Costantino leads the nation in save percentage (0.534). Her goals-against average mark (8.06) also ranks sixth nationally.
Named to the BIG EAST weekly honor roll for her performances last week, Murray now ranks fourth in points (80), eight shy of the nation's leader. The attacker also ranks fifth in both points per game (5.33), goals per game (3.6) and total goals scored (54). Junior Michelle Tumolo joins Murray on the national charts, ranking 10th in points per game (4.71) and 13th in assists per game (2.36).
Syracuse returns home for the final weekend of the regular season. The Orange will face Loyola (Md.) in a battle of first-place conference foes on Friday, April 29. The match-up will take place at the SU Soccer Stadium with action slated to start at 7 p.m.
