Eric Devendorf, one of the most prolific offensive performers in Syracuse basketball history, continues to pursue the dream of an NBA career.
Devendorf, who spent the last year playing in the NBA Developmental League (NBDL), is back in Syracuse to continue training for another shot at the NBA. He hopes to land with an NBA Summer League squad. Playing overseas also remains an option.
He began the 2011-12 NBDL season with the Idaho Stampede. In 13 games he averaged 8.9 points and 1.6 rebounds per contest. He was traded to the Reno Bighorns and played 26 games, averaging 11 points and 1.5 rebounds an outing.
He finished the campaign in impressive fashion. Over the course of the final 10 contests, Devendorf averaged 16.9 points per game while playing an average of 20.9 minutes. He shot .640 from the field and .536 on three-point goals, during that stretch.
Devendorf, who accumulated 1,680 points at Syracuse, still ranks 14th in career scoring with the Orange.
