SU Falls Short at Boston College, 4-3

DEDHAM – Despite claiming wins in three-of-six singles matches, the Syracuse Orange tennis team (0-5, 0-1) slipped in a 4-3 loss to Boston College, handing the Eagles their second straight victory of the season.
After the Komal Safdar and Amanda Rodgers picked up win against Ina Kauppila and Wan-Yi Sweeting on court three of the doubles competition, SU headed into the singles competition trailing by only two points, after the duo defeated their opponent 8-6.
Rodgers returned to the court to claim a win against Kelly Barry, by a score of 6-4, 6-4 on court three, while Maddie Kobelt took down Alex Kelleher on court two in a 6-2, 7-6 decision.
Breanna Bachini earned her first victory of the season, defeating Julia Casselbury on court six in a 6-0, 6-4 triumph, but the extra point was not enough to lift the Orange ahead, as Syracuse ultimately fell to Boston College, 4-3.
The Orange is back in action on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 9 a.m., returning home to host Navy in its season home-opener at Drumlins Country Club.
