SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse (9-6-1, 2-6-1 ACC) wraps up the home portion of its 2013 schedule when it plays No. 19 Clemson (10-4-2, 5-2-2 ACC) on Friday, Nov. 1 at the SU Soccer Stadium. The Orange and Tigers kick off at 7 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Dan Metzger scored the game's only goal in the 56th minute to lead Maryland past Syracuse, 1-0, on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the SU Soccer Stadium. It was an evenly played match with Maryland recording eight shots and SU tallying seven.

Maryland goalkeeper Zack Steffen made his only save late in the match, denying Chris Nanco with a diving stop that preserved the clean sheet. The Orange defense held NCAA leading scorer Patrick Mullins to one shot in the game.

CRUNCH TIME
The Orange has two ACC matches remaining and sits in 11th place in the league standings with seven points. The top eight teams qualify for the conference tournament. On two points separate teams 8-11. SU travels to ACC frontrunner Wake Forest for its final regular-season match next Friday.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS
Clemson has a 10-4-2 record, including a 5-2-2 mark in ACC play. The Tigers are fourth in the ACC and have clinched a berth in the conference tournament.

Thomas McNamara leads the team with 21 points on seven goals and seven assists. Ara Amirkhanian has 14 points (six goals, two assists) and Manolo Sanchez has 12 (five goals, two assists). Clemson goalkeeper Andrew Tarbell has started 10 contests for the Tigers, including the last two. He has 24 saves and a 1.05 goals-against average.

Mike Noonan is in his fourth season at the helm in Clemson after a 15-year stint at Brown. The Tigers reached the ACC semifinals last season.

SERIES HISTORY
Saturday's match represents the first meeting between Syracuse and Clemson.

The Tigers are one of five teams the Orange have or will play for the first time in 2013. The others are Manhattan, Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland. SU defeated Manhattan 1-0 on Sept. 9 and suffered losses to Virginia (2-0) on Sept. 28, North Carolina (1-0) on Oct. 18, and Maryland (1-0) on Oct. 26.
