DURHAM, N.H.—The Syracuse ice hockey team dropped its first game of the season to New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon. The Orange (1-1-0) took a 2-0 lead in the second period but the Wildcats (2-2-0) scored three straight to defeat SU 3-2 on their home ice.

UNH out-shot SU 36-26 and dominated in the faceoff circle, winning 35 of 56. Senior goaltender Kallie Billadeau made 33 saves in the contest.

Freshman Jessica Sibley scored the first goal of the game, netting a power play goal 4:40 minutes into the first period. Cara Johnson and Allie LaCombe assisted on the play that gave the Orange an early 1-0 lead.

The Wildcats put together an offense soon after, scoring their first goal of the game 14:45 minutes into the second period on a power play. They scored two more in the third period, one of which was a man-up score.

The Orange take on Clarkson both at home and away next weekend on Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 4 p.m.
