SYRACUSE, N.Y.—The Syracuse football team takes on Boston College on Saturday, Nov. 30 in its regular season finale at the Carrier Dome. Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m. and the game will be aired on the ACC Network.
Â
GAME OVERVIEW
• Syracuse wraps up its inaugural ACC campaign at home on Saturday, Nov. 30 against longtime rival Boston College. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
• The game will be broadcast on the ACC Regional Sports Networks (RSN). Wes Durham (pxp), Brian Stann (analyst) and Jenn Hildreth (sidelines) have the call. Coincidentally, Syracuse is 4-0 on RSN's air this year with wins against Tulane (52-17), NC State (24-10), Wake Forest (13-0) and Maryland (20-3).
• SU can become bowl eligible for the third time in four years with a win, clinching a .500 regular-season record in head coach Scott Shafer's first year at the helm.
• The Eagles are already bowl eligible. Boston College posted its seventh win of the season last weekend with thrilling 29-26 victory at Maryland.
Â
SALUTING THE SENIORS
 • Saturday is Senior Day at the Carrier Dome. Twenty-four young men (19 student-athletes, 5 student managers) will be honored in a brief ceremony prior to the game for their commitment to the Orange program. They are: Drew Allen, Ri'Shard Anderson, Daniel Anyaegbunam, Jay Bromley, Christopher Clark, Lewellyn Coker, Sean Hickey, Zian Jones, John Kinder, Charley Loeb, Keon Lyn, Macky MacPherson, Zach McCarrell, Eric Morris, Jerome Smith, Marquis Spruill, Beckett Wales, Jarrod West, Jeremi Wilkes, Matt Ashe (mgr), Nick Capparelli (mgr), Anthony Dragona (mgr), Devin Hill (mgr) and Zach Spitzer (mgr).
Â
THE BOSTON COLLEGE SERIES
• SU leads the all-time series against Boston College, 28-18, including an 18-6 record in games played in Syracuse.
• The Boston College series is the fifth-most frequent in Syracuse history. It dates back to 1924.
• BC defeated the Orange, 16-7, in the last meeting between the teams in 2010.
• SU is 10-3 against BC in the Carrier Dome.
• The Orange's 43-17 win in 2004 was one of the most memorable games in the series. It is known in SU lore as 'The Diamond Ferri Game.' Ferri, a defensive back, filled in on offense and rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns. He also had six tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown to win BIG EAST Offensive AND Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Â
UNSTOPPABLE FORCE VS. IMMOVABLE OBJECT
• This game will be heavily impacted by how well the Orange defense can control Boston College's Andre Williams, the nation's leading rusher.
• SU is one of three FBS teams (Ohio State and Wisconsin are the others) not to allow a 100-yard rusher this season.
• SU ranks fourth in the ACC against the run (133.5 ypg) and has allowed 1,468 yards on the ground in 2013.
• Williams has 2,073 yards rushing by himself this year (188.5 per game). He has nine 100-yard games, and has topped 200 yards in each of the last three contests.
• Ironically, Williams put himself on the college football map in 2010 by rushing for 185 yards on a school-record 42 carries versus SU in his first career start.
• Williams replaced Montel Harris in the BC lineup that day. Coincindentally, Harris is the last individual to run for 100 yards against the Orange, achieving the feat for Temple in the 2012 regular-season finale. Â
Â
A WIN AGAINST BOSTON COLLEGE WILL …
• Be SU's 704th all-time victory, the 16th-most among FBS schools.
• Make the Orange bowl eligible for the third time in four years.
• Be SU's third win against BC in the last four tries.
• Make the Orange 19-6 all-time against Boston College at home, including an 11-3 record at the Carrier Dome.
• Give SU a 4-2 record at the Dome in 2013, the 29th time in the building's 34 seasons the Orange has posted a winning home record.
• Clinch third place in the ACC Atlantic Division behind top-10 teams Florida State and Clemson.
