NEW YORK -- New York's College Team returns to one of the most famous arenas in the world when No. 2/3 Syracuse takes on St. John's in Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Dec. 15. Tipoff is scheduled for 12 p.m. The Orange is going for its ninth consecutive victory to start the season, while the Red Storm enters Sunday's game with a 6-2 record.
The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1. Fans can listen to the action on the Syracuse IMG Radio Network and its flagship TK99 (99.5 FM). Live audio will be available on Orange All Access on SUathletics.com. Subscriptions to Orange All Access are available at daily, monthly and yearly rates.

What to Watch For – Syracuse
1. With two wins last week, Syracuse moved up to No. 2 in the Associated Press top 25 poll. It's the Orange's highest spot since being ranked second on March 12, 2012 prior to entering the 2011-12 NCAA Tournament.
2. Syracuse has an all-time record of 92-47 at Madison Square Garden, including a 74-46 mark during head coach Jim Boeheim's tenure. The 2013-14 season marks the 32nd consecutive campaign that SU has played at least once in the storied facility.
3. Sophomore DaJuan Coleman posted his second double-double of the season and third of his career against Binghamton with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Coleman is the squad's third-leading rebounder, averaging 5.1 per game.

What to Watch For – St. John's
1. The Red Storm has won its last two contests after an overtime loss to Penn State in the Barclays Center Classic. St. John's will be facing its second ACC opponent this season. The Red Storm defeated Georgia Tech, 69-58, on Nov. 30.
2. Three players average double figures in scoring for St. John's. Junior D'Angelo Harrison leads the way, averaging 18.9 points per contest. Sophomore JaKarr Sampson contributes 12.4 points per game, while junio Phil Greene IV adds 10.4 points per game.
3. Steve Lavin is in his third year at the helm of the St. John's program. Previously, Lavin served as head coach at UCLA for seven years.
THE SERIES
Syracuse and St. John's have met 87 times, most of which came while both were members of the BIG EAST Conference. The Orange leads the all-time series with St. John's, 50-37. The teams have played at least once for the past 11 seasons. Last year's meeting took place on Feb. 10 in the Carrier Dome. C.J. Fair and Michael Carter-Williams each scored 17 points to lead SU to a 77-58 victory.
