SYRACUSE, N.Y. -Â The No. 20/23 Syracuse women's basketball team (11-1) concludes its non-conference schedule when it travels west to No. 24/rv Arizona State (10-1) for a battle of one-loss teams on Monday at 8 p.m. ET.

GAME COVERAGE

HOT START TO '13-14
• Syracuse is 11-1 for the fifth time in program history and third time in the last four years under head coach Quentin Hillsman. The mark is bettered only by the start of 12-0 in 2009-10, the program's longest undefeated run to start a season.
• The Orange has outscored its opponents by an average of 24.7 points, scoring 83.8 points per game while allowing just 59.1.
AN ORANGE WIN WOULD...
• ...make Syracuse 12-1 for the sixth time in program history, tying for its best record after 13 games with 1978-79, 2007-08, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2012-13.
• ...make it 1-1 all-time vs. the Sun Devils and 1-0 at Arizona State.
• ....make SU 4-1 vs. teams that are ranked or receiving votes this season, including 3-1 away from home.
• ...make SU 42-7 (.857) in Dec. games since 2007-08.

SERIES HISTORY
• Syracuse is 0-1 all-time against Arizona State with the lone meeting being a 72-67 Sun Devils win on Dec. 1, 1996 at the San Juan Shootout in Puerto Rico (see box on page 3 for details).
• The Orange is already 1-0 at Pac-12 schools this season. It opened the season on Nov. 10 with a 69-65 win at Washington State.

SCOUTING THE SUN DEVILS
•   Arizona State is off to a 10-1 start to the season and is receiving votes in both major polls. It is ranked No. 24 in this week's AP poll.
•   RealTimeRPI.com ranks the Sun Devils 11th in the country as of Dec. 28.
•   After losing at San Diego, 61-53, in the second game of the season on Nov. 13, ASU has won nine in a row.
•   Two of ASU's wins have come against ACC schools: North Carolina, 94-81, on Nov. 29, and Miami, 75-73, in its most recent game on Dec. 21.
•   Senior 5-7 guard Deja Mann (11.9 ppg) and senior 5-9 guard Adrianne Thomas (10.5) lead a very balanced scoring attack that has seven players averaging between seven and 12 points per game.
•   Arizona State is one of the more efficient shooting teams in the in country, ranking 18th in the NCAA in field goal percentage (.467) and 20th in 3-point field goal percentage (.383).

IN THE POLLS
• Syracuse is ranked No. 20 for the second week in a row in the Associated Press Top 25, the highest ranking in program history, surpassing the previous high of 21st on Feb. 11, 2008 and Feb 18, 2013.
• In the USA TODAY Coaches Poll, SU is ranked No. 23. It is the second week it has been ranked by the coaches.
• The Orange debuted in the AP poll on Dec. 2 at No. 22 and has been ranked for four-straight weeks.
• SU was ranked No. 22 in both the final AP and USA TODAY Coaches polls last season. It was ranked for seven-straight weeks in the AP poll and 10-straight weeks in the coaches poll, both program records.

LAST TIME OUT
• Brittney Sykes' buzzer-beater layup lifted Syracuse past Saint Joseph's (9-2) in a thrilling 64-62 victory on Dec. 21 at the Carrier Dome.
• The Orange played from behind for most of the game, coming back from a 14-point deficit in the middle of the first half and gaining its first lead of the second half with 3:30 remaining in the game off a Rachel Coffey 3-pointer. Sykes took over from there, scoring six of her 20 points in the final 2:37 to defeat the Hawks.
• SJU's Natasha Cloud hit a floater in the lane with 21 seconds left to tie the game. After SU took a timeout with 10.7 seconds left, Sykes drove to the basket to hit the game-winner just before time expired.
• Brianna Butler had 15 points, while Briana Day recorded the second double-double of her career, notching 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Sykes was one rebound shy of a double-double with 20 points and nine boards.
• Sykes also provided SU's last buzzer-beating win when her steal and half-court shot beat St. John's on Jan. 23.
