SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- No. 2/2 Syracuse will help ring in the new year when it hosts Eastern Michigan in a New Year's Eve matinee in the Carrier Dome. Tip off is set for 3 p.m. The Orange goes for its 13th consecutive victory to start the season.

Tickets for Tuesday's game are available online, by phone (1-888-DOMETIX) or in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office (Gate B).The game will be televised on ESPNU and ESPN3. What to Watch For – Syracuse
1. Syracuse enters this week as one of eight unbeaten teams in Division I. The other seven are Arizona, Iowa State, Ohio State, Oregon, Toledo, Wichita State and Wisconsin. Toledo plays at Kansas on Monday night.
2. Tuesday's game is the final non-conference game of the season for the Orange. SU has won 50 consecutive home games against non-conference foes.
3. Syracuse shot 82.9 percent (29-for-35) from the free throw line in its win against Villanova. The Orange was particularly accurate from the charity stripe in the closing minutes of the game, hitting 12 of its final 14 attempts. For the season, Syracuse is shooting 69.4 percent from the free throw line.

What to Watch For – Eastern Michigan
1. Syracuse welcomes back former assistant coach Rob Murphy to the Dome on Tuesday. Murphy is in his third year at the helm of the Eagles program after spending seven seasons as an assistant at SU. In addition, EMU's director of basketball operations, Victoria Sun, is a 1997 Syracuse graduate.
2. Junior Ward Karrington leads the Eastern Michigan offense, averaging 15.0 points per game. Redshirt freshman Raven Lee also averages double figures in scoring, contributing 12.8 points per game. Karrington leads the Eagles on the boards, pulling down 6.2 rebounds per game.
3. Eastern Michigan is facing its second consecutive opponent from the ACC. The Eagles played at Duke on Saturday and have faced a very tough schedule this season. EMU has also played at Kentucky and hosted Massachusetts.

THE SERIES
Syracuse leads the all-time series with Eastern Michigan, 2-1. The Eagles won the first meeting between the two schools, 68-65, in 1996. The Orange has defeated EMU the past two seasons.
