The squads were tied 42-42 at the 10:08 mark before Omar Calhoun gave the Huskies the lead for good with a three-pointer. That basket sparked Connecticut on a 13-4 scoring run that put UConn up by nine at with 6:13 remaining. The Huskies went up by 10 before Syracuse cut the lead to six at 61-55 with 2:33 to play, but that was as close as the Orange could get.
