
Carter-Williams and Lewis Named Orange Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Sophomore Michael Carter-Williams (Hamilton, Mass.) of the men's basketball team and junior SaDe Lewis (Peyton, Colo.) of the women's track and field team are the Syracuse University Scholar-Athletes of the Week for the week of February 4, 2013.
Aside from leading the team with 180 assists and 62 steals, Carter-Williams has consistently remained at the top of the national standings in assist average, averaging 8.6 helpers per game, while currently ranking fourth in steals, with 3.0 per game. Carter-Williams averages 12.6 points per game while averaging 34.0 minutes per game this season. He is also on the 2013 Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List. Carter-Williams is majoring in communication and rhetorical studies in the College of Visual and Performing Arts. He was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for the Fall 2012 semester.
Lewis is one of the top sprinters and hurdlers on the women's track and field team. At the Upstate Challenge this indoor season, she took first place with a time of 8.66 in the 60m hurdles. At the Penn State National this season, she tied her PR of 8.62 in the prelims of the 60m hurdles. Lewis is an architect major in the School of Architecture. She has been a member of the 2010-11 and 2011-12 BIG EAST All-Academic Teams. Lewis has also been named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll every semester of her career, from Fall 2010- Fall 2012.
Carter-Williams and the men's basketball team host Notre Dame on Monday, Feb. 4th at 7 p.m. (ESPN) and St. John's on Sunday, Feb. 10th at 1 p.m. Lewis and track and field team travel to Boston University for the Valentine Invitational on Feb. 8, 2013.
