Orange Welcomes Princeton to Drumlins

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Fresh off a thrilling 4-3 conference victory against No. 69 DePaul, the Syracuse tennis squad (5-6) will look for its second straight win against a ranked opponent this weekend. The Orange is welcoming No. 64 Princeton to the Drumlins Tennis Center on Sunday, March 17. The first serve is set for 10 a.m.

LAST TIME OUT:
Syracuse split the compeition 1-1 in their last two matches. SU fell to Illinois on the road in a bitter 6-1 deicsion but rallied the next day, defeating DePaul by a close 4-3 score. The match against the Blue Demons came down to a gritty match between sophomore Amanda Rodgers and Patricia Fargas, with Rodgers emerging from a 7-6, 6-7, 7-6 battle to clinch the victory.

SCOUTING THE TIGERS:
Princeton enters this weekend's match with their highest ITA ranking in a year, claiming
the No. 64 spot. The Tigers are also looking to extend a two-game win streak that began last week with victories against DePaul and Binghamton to bring their overall record to 7-3 in 2013.

The Tigers currently hold the advantage in the all-time series as the Orange is 2-12 in matches played against Princeton. The most recent matchup between the two clubs was February 21, 2010, when SU traveled to Princeton, N.J. and suffered a 6-1 setback. With a win this Sunday, Syracuse can break the streak and begin its climb to the top of the series.

UP NEXT:
The Orange will remain home heading into the next week of competition. Syracuse will host Seton Hall and Providence in a double header on Saturday, March 23 before taking on Army at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27 in the Drumlins Tennis Center.
