STANFORD, CALIF - The Syracuse track and field kicked off the 2013 outdoor season this weekend at the 29th annual Stanford Invitational track at Cobb Track and Angell Field. Lauren Penney took first in the 5000m race, shattering her own school record with a time of 15:56.80. She had set the school record in 2011 with a time of 16:09.44.

Sarah Pagano also competed in the 5000m race, finishing in 14th with a time 16:25.15. Jessie Peterson placed 11th in the section three heat, finishing with a PR of 16:25.92. Brenna Symoniak (17:00.74) and Margo Malone (17:08.24) finished in 29th and 30th place, respectively.

Molly Malone set her PR in the 1500m run, running to a third place finish with a time of 4:23.79. In the 3000m steeplechase, Brianne Nerud claimed a 10th place finish with a time of 10:26.44.

Alexandra Clinton recorded a 27th place finish in the 10000m race, finishing with a time of 35:50.20 and setting a new PR. Â

In the 1500m run, Andrew Nelson set his PR with a time of 3:49.80, coming in sixth in section five. Andrew Bennison ran finished in fourth place in section six after finishing with a PR time of 3:49.96 while Forrest Misenti came in 12th with a time of 3:53.17.

Martin Hehir finished in 16th place in the 5000m run, posting a PR time of 13:53.65 in section one of the race. In section three, Ryan Urie came in 18th after recording a time of 14:29.10 while in section four, Kevyn Hoyos finished in 19th with a time of 14:42.44.

The Orange had five competitors in the 10000m run. Tito Medrano led SU with a 15th place finish after completing the race in 29:43.47. Reed Kamyszek finished close behind with a PR time of 29:45.90 in 15th place. Andrew Palmer's time of 30:07.79 was good for 26th place and set his new PR. Griff Graves came in 37th with a mark of 30:33.77 while Robert Molke finished in 39th with a time of 30:48.14.
