Treanor Earns Rookie of the Week Honors

Syracuse freshman Kayla Treanor has been named the nation's Rookie of the Week by WomensLax.com for her performance in the BIG EAST Tournament. She tallied 13 points in the two games and earned the MVP award.
Treanor had four goals and two assists in the Orange's 19-6 victory against Connecticut in the semifinals. In the championship game against Georgetown, she tied her career highs in points (7) and goals (6) to lead Syracuse to 14-7 victory and its third BIG EAST Tournament title. Treanor now has 78 points and a team-high 59 goals, which are both the highest single-season totals for a freshman in school history.
The Orange earned the No. 4 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will host first- and second-round games this weekend. Boston College and Dartmouth will play Friday, May 10 at 4 p.m. at the SU Soccer Stadium. The winner faces Syracuse on Sunday, May 12 at 3 p.m.
