Former SU guard Jonny Flynn has been added to the Indiana Pacers rookie/free agent camp roster as announced on the team's website July 1.
Flynn, who was drafted sixth overall by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2009 NBA Draft, was a member of the 2010 NBA All-Rookie second team. After playing two seasons with the Timberwolves, Flynn split time between the Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers during the 2011-12 campaign. Last year, he was member of the Detroit Pistons training camp roster, before signing with the Melbourne Tigers in the Australian National Basketball League.
In just two seasons on campus, Flynn averaged 16.6 points per game and is 43rd on the all-time scoring list with 1,211 career points, while his 439 career-assists is seventh best. As a sophomore, Flynn led the Orange in scoring with 17.4 points per game and was second in the BIG EAST with 6.7 assists per game. He was named the BIG EAST Tournament's Most Outstanding Player during SU's run to the tournament championship game.
The Pacers camp, which begins on Wednesday, July 3, will run through Saturday. Indiana will play five games in the NBA's Orlando Summer League that will take place from July 7-12.
