Welcome to the first weekly installment of "Orange In The Pros." Each week SUathletics.com will take a look around the NBA, NBA Development League and overseas to provide updates on how former Orange men are faring in their respective leagues.
Carmelo Anthony – One day removed from being named to his ninth All-Star team, Carmelo Anthony exploded for a New York Knicks and Madison Square Garden record 62 points in a 125-96 win against the Charlotte Bobcats on Jan. 24. He also added 13 rebounds for a double-double. Anthony's Knicks went 3-0 during the week with the forward averaging 40.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and three assists per game.
Michael Carter-Williams – Rookie Michael Carter-Williams recorded his second double-double in four games following a 22-point, 11-assist performance as the Philadelphia 76ers suffered a 124-113 setback to the Phoenix Suns on Jan. 27. Carter-Williams also reached 20 points in the 76ers loss to Toronto on Jan. 24. He averaged 16.7 points, 6.7 assists and 1.7 steals during the three-game stretch.
Dion Waiters – Dion Waiters poured in 21 points and added four assists but it wasn't enough for the Cleveland Cavaliers, which lost to the New Orleans Pelicans on Jan. 28. In the Cavs' only win in the past week, Waiters chipped in 13 points to go along with a season-high eight rebounds to help lift Cleveland over Milwaukee on Jan. 24.
Wes Johnson – The Lakers played in four games last week with Wes Johnson averaging 6.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per outing. Johnson's best performance of the week came in a 104-92 loss to the Indiana Pacers, owners of the best record in the NBA, on Jan. 28. The former Syracuse forward scored seven points and pulled down 10 rebounds, his second highest tally of the season.
Scoop Jardine – Scoop Jardine made his pro debut with the Tulsa 66ers of the NBA D-League on Jan. 24, netting eight points and dishing out three assists in 17 minutes of action. In his next game against Idaho, Jardine helped lead the 66ers to a victory with six points and five assists. For the week, Jardine played in three games and averaged 5.3 points and 3.7 assists.
Arinze Onuaku – In a pair of games at Delaware, big-man Arinze Onuaku averaged 11 points, nine rebounds and 1.5 blocks per contest as the Canton Charge went 1-1. Onuaku's best game was in the opener on Jan. 24 as he recorded a double-double with 15 points and 12 boards while adding three blocks.
James Southerland – James Southerland has been on a tear since joining the Los Angeles Defenders last month. Over the past three outings – all wins for the Defenders - Southerland has put up 17.7 and 8.3 rebounds per game. On Jan. 24, he had 10 points and 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. The following night Southerland scorched the nets for 24 points for the second time in three games.
Fab Melo – The former Syracuse center was recently traded to the Texas Legends and played in his first two games this season. In his second contest against former teammate Southerland and the Los Angeles Defenders, Fab Melo scored eight points and pulled down six rebounds in just 14 minutes of action.
Donte' Greene – Former freshman standout Donte' Greene led the Dongguan Leopards of China to a pair of wins last week. For the 13th time this year, Greene reached 20-points following a win against Shanghai and he tallied his eighth double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Greene has scored in double-figures in 22-of-27 games this season.
Paul Harris – Paul Harris and SLUC Nancy of France played in just one game over the week, matching his season high of 30 points while pulling down a season-best 11 rebounds. It was Harris' second double-double in his last three games. Harris was quite efficient against Limoges on Jan. 28, going 7-10 from the floor including 4-of-5 from three-point range.
Hakim Warrick – In two games with Liaoning (China), Hakim Warrick averaged 21 points and 10.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week. Warrick has scored at least 14 points in all 12 games and his 23-point, 12-rebound performance marked his seventh double-double of the campaign and fifth straight.
Brandon Triche - Less than one year removed from a Final Four run at Syracuse, guard Brandon Triche is playing with Trento in Italy. In his only outing last week, Triche scored 12 points - reaching double-figures for the 10th time in as many games and had two steals.
Rick Jackson – Playing with BC Galil Bilboa in Israel, Rick Jackson finished with one points and eight rebounds in his team's only game of the week on Jan. 27.
Kris Joseph – Despite an 86-80 setback to Dijon, Kris Joseph recorded 17 points on 9-of-13 shooting in Chalon-sur-Saone (France) only game this past week.
