Rematch Between Orange and Eagles Set for Wednesday Night

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- No. 1/1 Syracuse and Boston College meet for the second time this season when they take the court on Wednesday, Feb. 19. Tipoff in the Carrier Dome is set for 7 p.m. The Orange is going for its 26th consecutive victory.
The game will be televised on ESPN2 and ESPN3. Fans not in attendance can listen to the action on the Syracuse IMG Radio Network and its flagship TK99 (99.5 FM). Live audio will be available on CuseTV on Cuse.com. Subscriptions to CuseTV are available at daily, monthly and yearly rates.

What to Watch For – Syracuse (25-0, 12-0)
1. Syracuse is one of only two undefeated teams in Division I. The other is Wichita State from the Missouri Valley Conference. The Shockers also play on Wednesday at Loyola (Ill.).
2. Sophomore Rakeem Christmas posted his first career double-double in Syracuse's win against North Carolina State. Christmas pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds, including a personal-best eight on the defensive end. He was 4-for-7 from the field and 6-for-6 from the free throw line for 14 points. In addition, Christmas blocked a career-high seven shots against the Wolfpack.
3. Sophomore Jerami Grant also recorded a double-double against North Carolina State. He led the Orange on the boards with 14 rebounds to go along with 12 points. Grant leads the team and ranks ninth in the ACC in rebounding, averaging 7.2 per game.
What to Watch For – Boston College (6-19, 2-10)
1. Boston College has lost its last five games and eight of its last nine. The Eagles enter Wednesday's game with an overall record of 6-19 and are tied for 14th place in the ACC with a 2-10 league mark.
2. Syracuse will face one of the top scorers in the ACC in Boston College sophomore Olivier Hanlan. He ranks third in the league with a 18.2 points per game average. Ryan Anderson also averages double figures in scoring (14.8 ppg.) and leads the Eagles on the boards, posting 7.1 rebounds per game.
3. Steve Donahue is in his fourth season as the head coach at Boston College. He has guided the Eagles to a 52-71 record. Before taking over the helm of the program, Donahue spent 10 seasons as Cornell's head coach.
THE SERIES
Wednesday's game will be the 65th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Boston College. The teams met at least every year except one from 1979-80 through 2004-05 when both were members of The BIG EAST Conference. The Orange owns a 41-23 advantage in the series.
The teams met in Chestnut Hill on Jan. 13. Sophomore Trevor Cooney led a group of four SU players in double figures in scoring with 21 points. Sophomore Jerami Grant added 16 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. The Orange outscored the Eagles 25-9 during the final 12 minutes of the game to erase an early-second half deficit and post a 69-59 victory.
